Our General Practice

Prescriptions
Patients can obtain their medications in the following ways, face to face consultation, telephone consultation or by completing a prescription request form. The issuing of repeat prescriptions without a consultation with your Doctor is at your Doctors discretion. Please note, in certain circumstances some medications require the patient to attend a face to face consultation. If you require an urgent prescription, please inform the receptionist. If prescriptions are requested via telephone, they can either be sent to the patient directly via electronic prescribing (e- script) or sent directly to the pharmacy.
Test Results and Recalls
Results are reviewed by the doctors and acted on in a timely manner, with your health in mind. If there is any abnormality and need for further management, your doctor will either contact you or ask you to make an appointment for further discussion. Reception staff are NOT AUTHORISED to release test results with Patients.
Reminders
We wish to advise that the Ormeau Medical Centre participates in the national/state or territory reminder systems/registers (subject to informed patient consent.) Patients will receive reminders directly or via Ormeau Medical Centre for Breast screening, Cervical Screening and Bowel screening. Skin cancer checks, health assessments and care plans.
Referrals
Doctors in this practice are competent at handling common health problems. When necessary, they can use opinions from Specialists. You can discuss this openly with your doctor, including potential out of pocket expenses.
Patient Feedback

Communication
Our doctors are available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice. Our staff are experienced in deciding the appropriate response to any phone request.

Interpreter Service:
If you require the service of an interpreter during a consultation with your Doctor, please advise the receptionist when making your appointment, or call 1300 131 450 for telephone translator service.
We accept walk-ins and see them in a timely manner according to a triage system.
